From Death to Life
20x16 Acrylic
This painting is a visual expression of the Christian belief that God specializes in transformation—turning what is dead, broken, or forgotten into something vibrant and alive. The flowers bursting forth from a vessel shaped like a weathered, hollow “grave” symbolize the miracle of divine renewal: beauty growing from places that once held only loss.
Inspired by themes echoed in Ezekiel 37, the parting of the Red Sea, and ultimately the resurrection of Jesus, the piece reflects the truth that no situation is beyond God’s reach. The heart-shaped vessel suggests the human condition—scarred, emptied, or worn down—yet still capable of holding new life when touched by God’s restoring power.
Each bloom represents the fruits of God’s redemption: hope rising where despair once lived, joy where mourning settled, and purpose where dreams once felt buried. Against the textured, layered background, the flowers stand as a reminder that spiritual rebirth is not merely a change, but a complete transformation from death into life.
