Leaving the 99

24x30 Acrylic

This painting is inspired by the Parable of the Lost Sheep (Matthew 18:12–14, Luke 15:4–7), where Jesus — the Good Shepherd — leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one that is lost. It is a visual celebration of God’s personal, relentless love — a love that does not forget or forsake even one soul.

The warm light surrounding Jesus symbolizes divine compassion breaking through the wilderness of fear and failure. The single lamb in His arms represents every person who has wandered and been found, carried home by grace.

Through soft colors and flowing motion, this piece captures the tender truth of the Gospel: no one is too far gone to be pursued, rescued, and embraced by the Shepherd’s unending love.
